Must Be That Time of Year Again

PTs giving gardening tips.  I will personally give one of the The Users’ Guide to Musculoskeletal Examination: fundamentals for the Evidence-Based Clinician to the first private practice PT clinic that gets one patient out of any of these types of things.

Hi Larry,

I really think this is a problem. I mean check out this WebMD video (http://www.webmd.com/video/prevent-gardening-injuries) or this MSSE article (http://www.webmd.com/video/prevent-gardening-injuries). I think what would be best is to contact Nintendo and get a Wii simulation for the Wii in the PT clinic. The game could be called “Wii-ding for Health.”

Perhaps the soundtrack could be Gardening at Night by REM. You would have to bend down and twist the Wii handset three times clockwise and then counter clockwise. You would score points for time and speed. Then perhaps you could Wii-kick cyber rabbits (sorry Easter Bunny) that are trying to steal your vegetables.

Oh pickles- They already have a gardening game for the Wii – (http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/12437)

Wii-fully and Regrettably,

JW

My apologies - the links didn't copy. You will have to copy and paste or type the Web MD link and Wii game link into your address bar. The 1998 MSSE article can be found by typing "gardening injuries epidemiology" into the search function at PubMed.
