Plantlady wants to garden

We will start to see more and more of these types of questions from consumers seeking online advice from physical therapists. Obviously formal consultation a la the WebPT model is whorish and bad health care, but the rate at which consumers will use online forums to solicit advice, ask for recommendations to physical therapists in the local area, etc. will rapidly increase in the days ahead. Many aspects of self-reported and historical information lend itself well to being accomplished online. There is obviously no substitute for a hands-on examination and let's face it, PT will always be hands-on in its delivery. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see how health care delivery methods evolve in the coming years to accomodate rapidly advancing telemedicine capabilities.

Plantlady, I look forward to seeing what types of responses you get.

Very embarassing, but not surprising. This is basically the manner which most PT's practice...clueless, like shooting a gun in the dark and hoping the target gets hit.

I am sooooo sick of everybody now jumping on the "core" bandwagon. PT's are advertising "core stabilization", and here are some clueless PT's addressing a foot problem by running up to the trunk, before even addressing the local site first.

Discusting. But, as these goons invade my area, physicians see this behavior, the lack of results, and I end up getting more business

Personally, my spidey-sense says the plant lady is much more than she states...

Having an inherently suspicious nature, TThom, I'm wondering the same thing. But, I'm going to give plantlady the benefit of the doubt when it's a call for help.

On the other hand, my last post over there recommends she quit looking for help online and go find a real life, in-the-flesh PT. If she doesn't follow that advice, then my alarms will start to go off, as should all of ours.
