Happy 4th of July!
The EIM working group would like to pause and take a moment to wish all our US readers a Happy 4th of July.
Although the 4th of July is a time when Americans everywhere celebrate our independence, it is also a reminder that a Revolution is sometimes needed. This could not be more the case with regard to our current health care delivery system.
It begins with us. We at EIM look forward to working with you the last 1/2 of 2007 to help initiate and lead a revolution within our own ranks. Physical therapists cannot help but be part of the solution as musculoskeletal injuries alone are nearly ubiquitous (who hasn't had back and neck pain), let alone the myriad of other conditions with significant societal impact for which physical therapists offer effective and cost-efficient solutions.
Patients have choices, and in the simplest of terms they are Drugs, Surgery, and Us (PT). Unfortunately, many are not fully aware of their non-pharma, non-surgical option; there are plenty of examples and I will share one on the blog tomorrow.
In the meantime, let the Revolution begin!
