PTJobs.com and Evidence in Motion/MyPhysicalTherapySpace form a partnership based on results!
Evidence in Motion (EIM) and MyPhysicalTherapySpace (The '1T') have partnered with PTJobs.com, an employment resource website dedicated to the Physical Therapy profession. PTJobs.com was created to achieve results for therapy Employers and Job Seekers who want to find the right person or job. In a very short period of time, we have amassed a readership of over 5000 PTs across the country (and quickly growing!) who regularly communicate on MyPhysicalTherapySpace, follow the MyPhysicalTherapySpace blog, attend our courses, and consult with us on implementing an EBP culture and skill set in their practice. We are proud to be associated with the best PTs in the country, whom we affectionately refer to collectively as the EIM and '1T' Community. Check out our Clustr Map as one small example of our rapidly growing global community.
The key to both of our companies is the term 'results'. By partnering, EIM, MyPhysicalTherapySpace, and PTJobs.com now bring an expanded world of results to you! Presuming you're an Employer seeking high quality therapists well versed in EBP, you can now post new job openings as an EIM/1T member for a special reduced rate on PTJobs.com. To receive this special discount, you must let PTJobs.com know that you heard about the offer from EIM or MyPhysicalTherapySpace/1T.
There is more! Be sure to elect the additional 'EIM/1T Enhancement’ option in your job post application. When you do so, in addition to being displayed on PTJobs.com, your job posting will also prominently appear on the EIM website, EIM blog, and MyPhysicalTherapySpace domains! Designed to provide high exposure and deliver immediate results, we commit to displaying only those job postings from Employers who elect the additional visibility option. This will insure that your posting is continuously exposed on a daily basis to thousands of evidence-based PTs. There is simply no better way to reach a critical mass of the best PTs around the country. Job Seekers can also post their resume for free, search the PTJobs.com database, and start receiving job opportunities today.
We look forward to enhancing Employers’ ability to hire the best PTs across the country. Start today by calling 1-866-78Jobs1 or 1-866-785-6271 to set up your initial account with one of PTJobs’ Employment Representatives. After that, log in and start receiving results from your job post or resume. It will reach thousands of evidence-based therapists within minutes of signing up! The EIM and MyPhysicalTherapySpace Team

I hate to sound like a pessimist, but reality is that there are plenty of physical therapist positions to fill. (I get daily emails and phone messages and snail mail.) Because there is a high need for physical therapists, I'm of the impression that employers will say pretty much anything to get a body in the clinic to reduce the work load of current staff and reduce the wait period for an initial evaluation.
In the EIM world, since you have a relationship with PTJobs.com, what has been done to ensure that those of us who must might be looking for a different position will have a higher probability of finding an employment situation that reflects common beliefs/values in evidence based practice?

Outstanding question, and we have some ideas here. Nothing will be perfect, but the notion of credentialing or ‘licensing’ practices in EBP to insure some level of the right culture is part of the solution. These practices could receive preferred placement to help connect the right therapist with the right setting. Lots of development in the works. Great question. Stay tuned.

We do have a private practice that uses only EBP...no modalities...manual PT and ther ex only.
You can read what one of our PT's wrote in Impact (APTA publication) on our web site under "Employement."

Thanks for the links and tips on physical therapy jobs. I've been looking for some good sites lately. I'll have to forward these on to my brother who is looking for a job right now.
