Marketing EBP
Hats off to one of the blog's frequent posters, Jason Silvernail. He provided us a good example in the Fort Belvoir Eagle about how to practically market EBP. These stories go a long way to inform the public about evidence supporting physical therapist practice, while simultaneously shaping the public's perceptions regarding which type of health care professional they might be inclined to seek care should they have a future episode of low back pain. Thanks for being an advocate for the profession.

Wow, John, you beat me to it.
I might add that the interview and our entire PT month marketing campaign is being spearheaded by a new graduate (2004), Kara Weigel MPT.
Kara is proof that you don't have to have years of experience in the field to be able to put EBP into practice at the clinic and community level. Check out those great quotes she had in the article, hitting all the high points.
Imagine if every PT clinic did this?
Imagine if every PT were as pro-active as those of us on the blog are?
What might happen then?

I'll try to find the full page article they did on our clinic the previous week, and post it to the blog. They took pictures of several PT staff members and in the interview, we made sure to include the recent research (of course).
There should be another one of the news releases published soon as well.

I'd love to see the full article. Did you ever find it, Jason?
