EBP Conspiracy!!!

Well, I had always heard inklings and rumblings of this type of thing to be sure, but at long last we finally have something in print (therefore it must be evidence, right?) confirming:  There is an EBP conspiracy occuring right in our midst!!  Worse than that, it has all the markings of a religious cult.

To the (C)linicians for the (R)estoration of (A)utonomous (P)ractice writing group, we salute you for your heroic journalistic (and humorous, albeit unpoetic) efforts.

A great weekend to all!

Rob

Thanks for sharing. I rarely read anything cover to cover. I read every word. Absolutely hilarious.

I remember reading this article and have always enjoyed satire in one way or another. The cult like atmosphere promoted by some is problematic for EBM's existence. I thought the following article was excellent. I can't provide the free full text however. Perhaps you guys can.

Jon,

I think there will always be those in any organization, line of thinking, movement, or other entity that fail to look beyond their own perspective....fact of life and nothing to be alarmed about but rather recognized and controlled. I think the point it becomes problematic is when those in the entity (especially those in leadership) fail to recognize that their views are myopic and refuse to consider valid criticism or self-assessment. Being able to write a satirical peice about yourself and what you represent is a sign of health and bodes well for EBP (this is done quite frequently, and by leading thinkers in the area). It would be refreshing to see this approach taken by others on a broader scale. I think there is a lot of merit in the phrase "don't take yourself too seriously"

Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for that Rob. I agree. Luckily I have plenty of people around me who don't take me seriously so much of that type of work is already done (laugh)!
